Eid al-Adha is the biggest festival of muslims as it also called “Festival of the Sacrifice” or “Sacrifice Feast” or “Bakr-Eid”. At the time of Hajj Muslims remember and celebrate the trials and victory of the Prophet Abraham by themselves killing an animal such as a sheep, camel, or goat. Not only Muslim people but from other community are also eager to know about Eid al-Adha.

The world celebrates the holiday of Eid al-Adha at the end of the Hajj and that time, we are reminded that life is religious by pronouncing the name of Allah. Eid-ul-Zuha or Bakri Eid day is a day of sacrifice. We all know that in that day goats are slaughtering. Muslim people handle the goats and monitoring them and when she gets older so they killed them at Bakri Eid day that is sacrificed this is called the duty-e-sacrifice.

Abraham is the big devotee of the Allah; he plays important role as an example of trust in Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. As a result of his proved belief in God, Abraham was promised by God to be a leader to all the nations of the world. One day Allah examine the Abraham’s and given command to kill his only son. After hearing this command he was ready to fulfill the Allah’s will.

Even He was ready to do everything for Allah. The he started to kill his son the Allah revealed to him that his “sacrifice” had already been fulfilled. Every year this feast festival falls on different dates just as Easter because Celebration of this feast day is decided with the help of lunar cycle. Muslims around the world will soon be preparing to celebrate Eid al-Adha, one of the two most important festivals in the Muslim calendar.

Why Muslims sacrifice an animal on this day?

It is very important to understand why Muslims sacrifice an animal on this day. The story behind Eid-ul-Adha is totally based on Abraham’s faith in allah, who was indicated by Allah in a dream to raise the foundations of Kaaba, a black stone, the most virtuous Muslim shrine in Mecca, which the Muslims see during their worship.

When Abraham went Mecca with his wife and son, Mecca was a desolate and barren desert and Abraham had to face a lot of hardships at that time, however he fulfilled the Allah will without any reason. In a divine dream, he was ready to sacrifice his son for Allah’s sake. He was completely ready to give up his life for God But miraculously enough, when Abraham was about to sacrifice son, Allah save the boy’s life and replaced him with a lamb. And this is what Abraham ultimately sacrificed.

To celebrate this belief act of sacrifice by Prophet Abraham, On Eid-ul-Adha people slaughter a lamb, goat, ram or any other animal and One-third is distribute in immediate family and relatives, one-third is given away to friends, and one-third is donated to the poor. People who are far from the pilgrimage, Hajj, also carry out this traditional sacrifice. That’s way Eid-ul-Adha is also known as the Day of Sacrifice.
