* Essential oils are not really oils
Well if you have been they are actually oils and may have the consistency like oil, then you are certainly wrong. They are actually highly concentrated plant constituents possessing potential medical and cosmetic qualities.
* Essential oils are minuscule in molecular size
This means that they are absorbed well by the skin making them a perfect ingredient to use in personal care items intended to heal, soften and nourish.
* Fragrance oils and essential oils are not the same things
Sometimes you may misunderstand fragrance oils as essential oils, but they are not the one and the same. Anything that has written fragrance or even perfume on them you can assume this is synthetic and not natural.
* Essential oils should never be used undiluted on skin
Instead of using them directly on skin they should always be combine with real oils, butters or alcohols. Because they are concentrated, if you use them without diluting first you may end up with a unfortunate reaction on your skin.
* Do not take essential oil internally
Although you may see some essential oils being used by mixing them in toothpaste with safety, there is no need to take essential oils internally. In fact some essential oils are advisable to be avoided even through skin contact.
