5 Ways To Treat Your Oily Scalp

# Apple Cider Vinegar
Using acidic apple cider vinegar diluted in water is considered to be a very good oil cleanser. Not only this, but the acidic properties of the apple cider will also help one get rid of dandruff and stubborn dust particles on the scalp Mix equal quantity of apple cider vinegar and water and rinse your hair with it post-shampoo. It is said to be visibly effective after 2 to 3 washes.
# Aloe Vera
The pulp of aloe vera is said to be one of the best remedies to tackle almost every scalp issues. It has enzymes that cleanse all the toxins on the scalp. Aloe vera is a natural germicide and antiseptic that kills germs and bacteria that can damage not only your scalp but also hair growth and quality. You can directly use aloe vera pulp by applying it generously on your scalp and hair. You can also add one lemon juice in it.
Many have claimed that beer does wonders to our hair, and they are absolutely right! Beer helps in removing excess oil from the scalp. The properties of beer have a drying effect on the scalp. Apply a generous quantity of beer on your scalp and to your hair (just like the way your oil your hair) and leave this for 15 to 20 minutes. With lukewarm water, wash your hair thoroughly. Once you are done, quickly wrap your hair with an over-sized towel until the excess water gets soaked in it.
# Lemon Juice
Lemon juice is known to be a universal cleanser. It effectively removes all the dust particles, excess oil and prevents greasy hair. Since lemon juice is acidic in nature, it retains skin’s acidic pH levels. Mix half a cup of lemon juice with a cup of water and apply it little by little to your scalp and then massage it slowly till the tips of your hair. This will also retain your hair’s shine and smoothness.
# Medicated Shampoo
Consult a skin specialist and get a medicated shampoo prescribed. Those shampoos that contain salicylic acid, selenium, etc. can reduce oil-content of our scalp. This will help one get rid of dandruff and seborrheic dermatitis. Since these shampoos are formulated to clean oily scalp, using them twice in a single wash, or at least until the excess oil is washed out, will not do much harm to the scalp as compared to the other shampoos.
