9 Essential Oils To Treat Under Eye Dark Circles

Dark circles are usually caused by lack of sleep, aging, stress, unhealthy lifestyle. The skin under the eyes is very delicate and thin as compared to the other parts of the body. The darkness is noticed as the veins here are much closer to the skin’s surface making it look darker. Essential oils for dark circles are really helpful. The essential oils should be diluted before using them as they are highly potent.

While using essential oils for dark circles, you should mix one drop of the oil with 15 ml of any carrier oil. Generally, apricot kernel oil is used as the carrier oil as it works very well.

Chamomile

One drop of Palmorosa oil mixed with any suitable carrier oil is to be applied gently on the dark circles and left overnight.

Frankincense Oil

This is one of the best essential oil for dark circles as it has the characteristic of fading out the darkness of the skin. It instigates a feeling of satisfaction, relaxation and mental peace. It lowers anxiety, stress and anger. To around 15 ml of any carrier oil, add 1 ml of Frankincense oil. This mixture should be applied below the eyes carefully. Close the eyes while applying. Leave it on.

Clove oil and Frankincense Oil

Clove oil mixed with Frankincense oil is very good for dark circles. This helps to improves the blood circulation and is also a good natural anti-inflammatory. Take 2 drops of clove oil, 7 drops of frankincense oil, 7 drops of lemon juice, a little Vitamin E oil. Mix all the ingredients well and store it in a bottle. Rose Geranium Essential Oil

Two drops of Rose Geranium oil is to be mixed well with around ½ teaspoon of aloe Vera gel. Try to get pure aloe Vera gel for quick results. Fennel Essential Oil

Mix one drop of fennel oil with ½ teaspoon of coconut oil and apply on the affected area below the eyes. Do not apply on the eyelids or too close to the eyes.

Lavender Essential Oil

It is abundant with anti-oxidant features and is the most popular oil in the world. When Lavender Oil is applied on the eyes regularly it relaxes the eyes and induces sleep. Add one drop of Lavender oil to a ¼ teaspoon of coconut oil and mix well. Massage this oil under your eyes before you go to sleep.

Cypress Essential Oil

It also helps in removing excess fluids that accumulate below the eyes causing puffiness.
