Ranbir Kapoor Following Footsteps of Salman Khan

Actor Ranbir Kapoor, who is currently busy promoting Jagga Jasoos, told news agency PTI that he 'will repay the distributors' if his film fails at the box office. "Personally, if my film fails and I am making money out of it, then I will pay back the distributors," the actor told PTI. The 34-year-old actor said that 'it is a healthy exercise' and his grandfather followed a similar trend. "It has been going on since my grandfather's (Raj Kapoor) time in 1950s. The style of making films where everyone makes money, not just the producers but also distributors and exhibitors. It is a healthy exercise. If someone loses money on something and you have made money out of it, it's good to compensate," PTI quoted Ranbir Kapoor as saying.

"Like when Mera Naam Joker released, distributors incurred losses. So when Bobby released, my grandfather gave a bigger share to the distributors than the exhibitors," he added.

Recently, it was reported that Salman Khan would refund distributors to compensate for the losses incurred by his film Tubelight, which released two days ahead of Eid. On Monday, trade analyst trade analyst Komal Nahta tweeted: "Salman Khan has agreed to refund money to distributors to make up for losses in Tubelight. A lovely gesture. That's being human."
