Tanushree Dutta accuses actor Nana Patekar of harassment

Earlier we reported of Bollywood actress Tanushree Dutta opening up on her assault scenario in India. It has been only a few weeks since she got back from US, the actress has called out a powerful name in the film industry who pushed and intimidated her on the sets of 2008 film ‘Horn Ok Please’. The person in question is none other than Nana Patekar.

In an interview with Zoom TV, Tanushree said that Nana Patekar has as a history of assaulting women and that he is known to be rude verbally and physically on sets. She said, “Everyone knows about Nana Patekar that he has always been disrespectful towards women. People in the industry know about this in the background that he has beaten actresses, he has molested them, his behaviour with women has always been crude but no publication has printed anything about it.”

She further said, “Everyone has gossiped about this but have never spoken. People with this kind of character speak like this against the kind of character that I have because they say she does glamourous roles so must be glamorous and all. Behind the back, they are so dirty. When you are in the industry you hear so many stories about these actors. But these things never take surface because they are PR packaged very well. They will give some money to some poor farmers. How much they do and how much they don’t no one knows. But all this is just for show.”

She also went on record to add that lead actresses are an exclusive demand set by lead actors of a movie. In fact, she said that Akshay Kumar and Rajinikanth also work with Nana Patekar.

Speaking on her memory of casting couch, she stumbled upon a conversation where a casting director chose lead actresses based on those who would provide sexual favours. The words were, “Deti hai kya.” She further said about the director saying ‘Aagar deti nhi hai to isko milegi nhi.’

She said, “This is the attitude in Bollywood and all the film industries that are working in the country is because dete nhi ho toh film nhi milegi.”
