# Victoria And Albert Museum

The Victoria and Albert Museum was established in 1872. This is the oldest museum in Mumbai and also the most prized. It has been later renamed as Bhau Daji Lad Museum. The museum showcases the industrial lives in the 19th century, along with several arty-crafts. There is a small section which shows the evolution in Mumbai, from just a cluster of island to a beautiful city. # Cowasji Jehangir Hall

Cowasji Jehangir Hall is a museum had been built by George Wittet and funded by Cowasji Jehangir with a donation of 4,00,000 rupees. It is in Colaba, and was built in the year 1911. It has a 20,000 sqaure feet of area which exhibitions which cost above 3, 30, 00,000 rupees. The museum is managed by the National Gallery of Modern Art (NGMA) Delhi. There are possessions of the NGMA as well.

# Prince of Wales Museum

Prince of Wales Museum was established in the early 20th Century, it is now known as ‘Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sangrahalaya’. The museum exhibits ancient artworks, artifacts, sculptures, etc. in the galleries. There is separate section of a particular material of object, like ivory objects are on one side, costumes on one side, stones on one sides, etc. The objects are not only from the country but also from Tibet, Nepal and other neighboring countries. # Mani Bhavan

Mani Bhavan has been created in memory of Mahatma Gandhi in Laburnum Road. It highlights the Gujarati style back then in the time Gandhiji. The first floor records has an auditorium which displays films on Gandhiji, they even play his speeches and his recordings there. On the floor above they have brought Gandhiji’s way of living, his room, his work place,. They have depicted his movements like Satyagraha, Dandi March in photographs along with explanations. The ‘Bhavan’ takes us back to the political struggles that Gandhiji had faced for India’s independence.

# Nehru Planetarium

Nehru Planetarium had been inaugurated by Indira Gandhi in 1977 in Worli Mumbai, in honor of Jawaharlal Nehru. The place had become a popular among astronomers, space aspirants and students who were keen in science. It is a center for logic for all students where there are detailed machines showing different forms of science and its effects. There are many discussions held in the planetarium on science, astronomy and cosmology and is a regular visit for school students and teachers.

# National Gallery of Modern Art

National Gallery of Modern Art was made with the motive to promote modern trends in Indian culture. It is located in Southern Mumbai. Initially it was only a venue for concerts but later it was made into a gallery. This has branches in Delhi and Bangalore and shows artistic works from India and around the world; which includes works of M. F. Hussain, Amrita Sher gill, Gaganendranath Tagore and then it goes up to the legendary artist Picasso and Egyptian arts and many more renowned artists. It posses above 14,000 artworks which are as old has 1857. It is known to be one of the best in India.
