City Tour To Palitana Gujarat

Palitana city situated in the Bhavnagar district of Gujarat is a major pilgrimage centre for Jains. The city is a very nice mountainous region. Due to hilly area it is only connected via road and has a small railway station. The nearest airport of the city is Bhavnagar which is at a distance of 51km.

It is the only mountain in the World that has more than 900 temples established. There are more than 3000 temples located on the Shatrunjaya Hill. The temples are exquisitely carved in marbles and attract millions of tourists.

The main temple on the top of the Hill is dedicated to 1st Tirthankar Lord Adinath (Rishabhdev). There are total of 3800 steps to reach the hill top.

The temple has a fabulous collection of jewels and can be seen with special permission. It is considered very scared to climb to the top of the mountain. The journey to the top is arduous.it is considered to be holy to climb the hill top once in lifetime.

For the unable or unaccustomed people facility of sling-chairs is also made available. There is a rule that food cannot be carried along with you. And it cannot be even eaten up on the way.

Apart from the hill temples the city also has a Muslim Shire of Angar Pir. It is also considered to be a holy place to seek the blessings.
