Monsoon Recipe- Bread Pakoda Matches Perfect With Rains

You cannot please me; you are not a bread pakoda. Yes I love it this much. Soft bread with a mouth watering stuffing dipped in gram flour batter and deep fried, to make a heavenly delicious snack. This one is my favourite on the list.

Bread Pakora recipe is a deep fried snack recipe made using a sandwich with potato filling, which is dipped in gram flour batter and deep fried. A crunchy coating, a spicy filling, the softness of the bread inside… everything makes it absolutely delightful. I have used a simple potato filling still the bread pakora is a big hit. It can be served with a cup of tea for breakfast on a rainy day.

Ingredients

6 bread slices
3 tsp tomato ketch up
3 tsp green chutney
1 cup gram flour
1 tbsp rice flour
A pinch of baking soda
Salt as per taste
1/2 tsp red chili powder
1/2 cup to 2/3 cup water (or as required)
1 and 1/2 cup boiled and mashed potato
1 and 1/2 tsp red chili powder
1 tsp dry mango powder
Salt to taste
1/2 tsp black pepper powder
Handful of chopped coriander
1 green chili finely chopped
1 tsp ginger paste or 1 inch ginger finely chopped

Method

* In a large bowl take 1 cup gram flour, 1 tbsp rice flour, a pinch of soda, salt to taste and 1/2 tsp red chili powder. Add 1/2 to 2/3 cup water and make a thick batter. Mix it well and let it rest for 10-15 minutes. After 15 minutes mix it well and check the consistency and seasoning.

* Tip : Adding rice flour ensures that the Bread Pakora are crispy and remain crispy.

* In another bowl take boiled and mashed potatoes.

* Add salt to taste, 1 and 1/2 tsp red chili powder, 1 tsp dry mango powder, 1/2 tsp black pepper powder.
* Add 1 green chili finely chopped and 1 tsp ginger paste and handful of chopped coriander. Mix everything well. Check the seasoning.
* Remove the sides of the slices. Take 2 bread slices. Apply tomato ketch up on one and green chutney on another.

* Do this for the remaining slices too.

* Spread the potato masala on one slice and cover it with another slice. Cut it into 4 triangles.

* Heat sufficient oil in a deep pan or kadai. Dip the prepared triangles in the gram flour batter. And put in the hot oil.

* Flip and cook from both the sides, on low to medium flame. Take them out on an absorbent paper. When you get the aroma of gram flour cooking, you know that you are making something correct.
