5 Home Remedies to Lighten Dark Under Arms

We bring to you some easy tips to get rid of your dark patches permanently. Here’s what you should do.

* Coconut Oil

Massage the dark underarms with coconut oil. Leave it on for 10 to 15 minutes. Wash it off with mild soap and lukewarm water. Repeat this step two or three times daily until you achieve the desired results.

* Chickpea Flour/Besan Mask

Mix 3 tablespoon gram flour, 1 tbsp yoghurt, 1 tsp lemon juice and a small pinch of turmeric. Mix them well to get a smooth paste. Apply this paste to your underarms. Leave it there for half an hour. Wash it off with water.

* Sandalwood

Mix two tablespoons of sandalwood powder and sufficient rosewater to make a thick paste. Apply the paste on your underarms. Leave it on for about 15 minutes or until it dries, and then wash it off with cold water. When repeated daily, this remedy will lighten the skin tone of your underarms within a few days.

* Cucumbers

1. Mix little lime juice with cucumber juice and add a pinch of turmeric to it. Apply this paste on the affected area. Leave it on for 30 minutes, and then wash it off with water. 2. You can also cut thinner slices of cucumber and rub it on your armpits. 3. You can also grate the juice of cucumber and apply it on your affected area with cotton. Keep it for some 10-15 minutes and wash it off with water.

* Baking Soda

Take some baking soda and water. Mix them to make a thick paste. Apply them to your underarms and gently scrub the area. Wash off and pat dry the skin. Apply some lotion or talc if you feel irritation after doing this.
