Homemade Lip Balm To Keep Your Lips Soft During Winters

Treat your dry, chapped lips with your own homemade lip balm made with natural ingredients. It is an inexpensive alternative to commercial lip balms that are often loaded with synthetic chemicals.

You can make your lip balm using beeswax, coconut oil, castor oil, and honey. Beeswax is known for its emollient, soothing, and softening properties. It forms a protective barrier on your lips to prevent dryness. When melted and combined with other ingredients, it helps make your lip balm firmer.

Ingredients

Beeswax
Extra-virgin coconut oil
Castor oil
Raw honey
Microwave or double boiler
Grater or peeler
Mixing spoon
Mixing bowl
Sterilized lip balm containers or tubes

Method

* Shred a ½ ounce bar of beeswax using a grater or peeler and transfer it into a bowl.

* Add 2 to 3 tablespoons of extra-virgin coconut oil.

* Add 1 to 1½ teaspoons of castor oil.

* Melt this mixture in a microwave or a double boiler.

* Add ½ to 1 tablespoon of raw honey.

* Mix it well and quickly transfer the mixture into your lip balm containers before it cools and hardens.

* Store your homemade lip balm in a cool, dry place. It should last for several months.
