Canon India, a leading player in the digital imaging industry, has unveiled #IndiaInMotion, an eight-month nationwide creator movement designed to inspire and support emerging filmmakers, visual storytellers, and hybrid content creators across the country. Introduced alongside Canon’s expanding video ecosystem, featuring the EOS R6V camera and the RF 20-50mm F4L IS USM Lens—the company’s first full-frame professional-grade L-series lens—the initiative aims to provide a unified platform for creators to tell compelling stories rooted in India’s people, cultures, traditions, and everyday experiences.
Through #IndiaInMotion, Canon India seeks to celebrate the nation’s cultural richness, evolving filmmaking landscape, and rapidly growing creator economy by encouraging cinematic storytelling and creator-driven expression.
As video-first content continues to gain prominence across genres such as weddings, travel, fashion, regional storytelling, and digital media, #IndiaInMotion will engage creators through creative challenges, film submissions, digital showcases, and community-led activities over the next eight months. The initiative is designed to offer learning opportunities, industry exposure, and creative collaboration, while giving participants access to Canon’s advanced imaging ecosystem and expert-led interactions.
The program will conclude with 12 shortlisted creators receiving an EOS R6V kit to produce original films. One final winner will earn the opportunity to bring their passion project to life with Canon’s support.
To strengthen the campaign’s creative vision, Canon India has partnered with acclaimed filmmaker Shakun Batra as the face of #IndiaInMotion. Known for acclaimed films such as Kapoor & Sons and Gehraiyaan, Batra is recognized for his emotionally resonant and contemporary storytelling style. He has also recently expanded into AI-powered creative storytelling through his venture Jouska AI. As part of the campaign, Batra will participate in creator conversations, mentorship sessions, and collaborative initiatives aimed at nurturing aspiring filmmakers across India.
Adding a unique artistic dimension to the movement, Canon India has collaborated with music duo Maati Baani to create an original #IndiaInMotion soundtrack. Serving as the campaign’s sonic identity, the track will feature across launch films, creator-generated content, and user submissions, helping establish a cohesive cinematic experience throughout the initiative.
The campaign is structured around six thematic “Motion Worlds”:
Weddings: Emotions in Motion
Travel: Geography in Motion
Festivals: Culture in Motion
Wildlife: Nature in Motion
Fashion: Expression in Motion
Food: Craft in Motion
Speaking about the launch, Vishesh Magoo, Assistant Director and Head of Imaging Communication Business Centre at Canon India, highlighted the growing demand for cinematic storytelling across diverse content categories. He noted that #IndiaInMotion reflects Canon’s commitment to fostering creative talent, making professional storytelling tools more accessible, and empowering the next generation of creators shaping India’s visual storytelling landscape.
Sharing his thoughts on the collaboration, Shakun Batra said that filmmaking is evolving rapidly, driven by a generation accustomed to documenting life through travel, culture, relationships, and everyday experiences. He described #IndiaInMotion as a valuable platform that gives creators access to the tools, mentorship, and ecosystem needed to transform that instinct into meaningful storytelling.
From the hidden festivals of Northeast India to the remote mountain passes of the Himalayas, from cinematic wedding moments to the vibrancy of everyday street life, #IndiaInMotion aims to spotlight authentic stories that capture the spirit of India in all its diversity. Built for a new generation of filmmakers and video-first creators, the movement seeks to democratize storytelling while celebrating narratives that connect communities, cultures, and experiences.
With the launch of #IndiaInMotion and the EOS R6V, Canon India is reinforcing its commitment to India’s rapidly expanding creator ecosystem by providing future-ready technology, creator-focused platforms, and a comprehensive video ecosystem designed to support the next era of filmmaking and visual storytelling.
