This is the astonishing moment a hungry elephant stopped a truck loaded with potatoes, tore off the tarpaulin with its trunk and stuffed the produce into its mouth.
The elephant halted the truck by walking in front of it in Garhbeta forest in West Bengal, eastern India.
It then tore off the tarpaulin and scooped dozens of potatoes out with its trunk.
Other truck drivers recorded the two-minute clip on their phones as they threw fire-crackers at the elephant in a bid to make it move on.
But the full-grown beast was undeterred by the crackers which went off under its feet, sending smoke into the air.
