Rakesh Bedi Calls PMO Script Rumours Around Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandhar Unthinkable: ‘Soch Bhi Nahi Sakta Koi’

Veteran actor Rakesh Bedi has addressed rumours suggesting that the script of director Aditya Dhar’s blockbuster Dhurandhar was written or influenced by the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), dismissing the claims as baseless. The actor, who earned widespread praise for his portrayal of Jameel Jamali in the film, said there was absolutely no truth to the speculation.

Speaking at a recent event, Bedi reflected on the phenomenal success of Dhurandhar and the response it has received from audiences. Referring to the viral rumours, he said that after the film turned into a massive hit, some people jokingly began claiming that the screenplay must have come directly from the PMO. He, however, stressed that such assumptions were completely unfounded and added that he could not even imagine something like that happening.

The actor also spoke about his collaboration with filmmaker Aditya Dhar and revealed that the director deliberately withheld certain details about his role while shaping the character. According to Bedi, Dhar wanted to preserve key suspense elements and maintain the mystery around the character throughout the creative process.

Bedi further shared that he offered several inputs to make his character more memorable. He suggested incorporating a few light-hearted moments into the film, though Dhar was initially reluctant as he wanted to preserve the serious tone of the story. Eventually, some of those ideas were included in the final cut, adding extra layers to the character.

Praising Dhar’s vision and storytelling, Bedi credited the director for creating a film that resonated strongly with audiences. He said the appreciation for both the movie and his character has been overwhelming. Rejecting the online rumours, the actor maintained that Dhurandhar’s success is the result of the team’s hard work, creative collaboration, and Aditya Dhar’s filmmaking expertise.
