Recipe- Crispy Aloo Poori Chaat is a Must Try

It is a unique and tasteful snack/appetizer. It is a crispy fried puri, that is topped with chana dal and a mixture of coriander chutney, tamarind chutney and onions. If you crave for tasty food, if you don't mind having something deep fried once in a while or if you love chaat recipes, we are sure you cannot miss this. Add some twists to this by adding some lemon or chat masala on the top, and you'll want to eat this again and again.

Ingredients

For Poori


1 cup all purpose flour(maida)
1 tbsp semolina (sooji)
½ tsp ajwain
2 tbsp oil/ ghee
Salt to taste
Oil for deep frying

Other ingredients

3-4 potatoes, boiled and peeled
1 tomato
6-7 green chillies
Handful of spinach
½ tsp turmeric powder
Salt to taste
Sev
Tamarind chutney
Few coriander leaves

Method

* Mix the flour with the Ajwain, oil (Ghee), salt and sufficient water and make a semi soft dough.

* Divide the dough into 10-­12 small portions.

* Roll them into 7-8 centimetres discs or circle (like chapathi).

* Prick with fork/ knife, so that it don't puff out (don't forget to do this).

* Heat the oil in a pan, slide in the Poori and carefully fry it, on medium or low flame till it turns crisp and golden in color.

* Drain the Poori on absorbent paper to remove the excess oil.

* Boil and peel the potatoes. Mash the boiled Pototoes.

* In pressure cooker add the mashed potatoes, chopped tomato, green chillies and spinach. Pressure cook and take 1 whistle.

* While serving, Place poori and top with cooked aloo mixture.

* Drizzle tamarind chutney on top of it.

* Sprinkle chaat masala, coriander leaves chutney (coriander), chopped onions and sev.
