PM Kisan Yojana New Guidelines: Government Issues Alert — Farmers Without e-KYC and Land Verification May Lose Next Installment

The Central Government has introduced an important update regarding the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM Kisan) Yojana. Farmers who have not yet completed their Aadhaar-based e-KYC and land record verification are at risk of missing the upcoming installment of ₹2,000. The Uttarakhand Agriculture Department has issued a clear advisory, urging all beneficiary farmers to complete these formalities at the earliest to ensure timely credit of funds.

Farmers at Risk of Losing Benefits

Under the new directive, e-KYC completion is now mandatory for all PM Kisan beneficiaries. According to the Central Government, farmers who fail to verify their KYC details will have their next installment withheld until compliance is confirmed. The government has made it clear that only verified accounts will be eligible for fund transfers going forward.

Officials have urged all registered farmers to complete the process quickly to avoid payment disruptions. Thousands of farmers across India depend on these installments for their agricultural and household expenses, making this update highly significant.

Previous Installments and Fund Transfers

On August 2, 2025, Prime Minister Narendra Modi disbursed approximately ₹20,843.44 crore to over 97.13 million farmers under the 20th installment of the scheme. Of this, ₹184.25 crore was credited to 828,787 farmers in Uttarakhand, as confirmed by State Agriculture Minister Ganesh Joshi. Data presented in Parliament revealed that ₹182.10 crore had been successfully transferred to 819,201 farmers under the same phase.

Recently, the 21st installment of PM Kisan Yojana was rolled out for farmers in Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand, regions affected by natural calamities. On September 26, 2025, the Union Agriculture Minister initiated the transfer of ₹157 crore directly to 789,128 beneficiary accounts in Uttarakhand.

However, government data shows that nearly 30,000 fewer farmers in the state received the 21st installment compared to the 20th. This decline has been attributed to incomplete verification procedures such as Aadhaar seeding, e-KYC, and land record verification, which disqualified certain beneficiaries.

Government’s Appeal to Farmers

Authorities have emphasized that non-compliance with e-KYC or land verification will continue to affect future payments. Hence, the government is actively urging farmers to finish these steps immediately to remain eligible for benefits.

According to officials, this drive aims to ensure that all deserving farmers receive financial aid without delay. The Agriculture Department is also conducting awareness campaigns at district and village levels to guide farmers through the process.
