Golmaal is a series of Indian action comedy films directed by Rohit Shetty and produced by Dhillin Mehta. The story revolves around the lives of four (five from the third film) friends Gopal, Lucky, Madhav and Laxman (hence the title of the series is Golmaal or GoLMaL). It involves comical incidents taking place with them, usually leading to a dramatic end.

In 2006 Rohit Shetty began an era of fun series, GOLMAAL. The film stars Ajay Devgn, Arshad Warsi, Sharman Joshi, Tusshar Kapoor and Rimi Sen in lead roles. The opening credits of the movie revealed that the story was based on the Gujarati play Aflatoon by Mihir Bhuta and Neeraj Vora adapted from Harsh Shivsharan's original Marathi play Ghar-Ghar.

On 29 October 2008, the film spawned a sequel, Golmaal Returns which was even more successful than the original. Opening comedy sequences of this movie was used in the Kannada movie Mast Maja Maadi.

Golmaal 3 is a 2010 Indian Hindi action comedy film directed by Rohit Shetty and the sequel to the 2008 film Golmaal Returns and the third film in the Golmaal series.[4] The film stars most of the actors from the previous films, including Ajay Devgan, Kareena Kapoor, Arshad Warsi, Tusshar Kapoor and Shreyas Talpade. New additions to the cast include actors Mithun Chakraborty and Kunal Khemu.

Golmaal Again is the fourth installment of this series which will hit the screens on Diwali,2017. The film is currently in production, will release on Diwali 2017. The new addition to the Golmaal family is Tabu and Parineeti Chopra.
