Rohit Shetty and Farah Khan are all set to team up and recreate the classic multi starrer, Satte Pe Satta. While the original starred Amitabh Bachchan and Hema Malini in the lead, there have been speculations as to who will play the lead in the new one. A report in Pinkvilla suggests, Farah has discussed the idea with Super 30 star Hrithik.
A source, close to the development, revealed to Pinkvilla, "Farah has already discussed the idea with Hrithik Roshan, who has also given a verbal nod to the project. Farah has reworked the whole script and designed it to suit the contemporary times. They needed a superstar who would command the same screen presence as Big B and Duggu was their first choice.”
The source also added “Farah and Hrithik have been friends for decades now so he immediately heard the story and okayed it. The final modalities will be worked out soon and the actor will also make an announcement right after that."
Other than Farah and Rohit, have also been keen on getting Hrithik on board for a project which hasn’t happened yet, and this could be the chance for all three to collaborate.
Source also revealed, Shah Rukh and Akshay have been on their mind, but they chose to go with Hrithik because they didn’t want someone too old or too young. "They didn't want someone too old or too young for this movie. The hero has to look the eldest of the lot and still not too old for marriage. They wanted someone in their 40s as the role would fit them perfectly. In fact, even Amit ji was 40 when Satte Pe Satta released."
The makers as also working towards casting for the female lead and other actors.
