Laila Majnu Trailer: Ekta Kapoor, Imtiaz Ali To Take You On A Ride With Age-old Romantic Saga

The love-story that went down in history is back in a cinematic form. Laila Majnu, an epic love saga which is in equal parts tragic and soul-stirring is based on how lovers sacrifice their lives for each other. Fast forward to the present and Ekta Kapoor has joined hands with Imtiaz Ali for a fresh spin on this age-old tale.

The makers have roped in debutants Avinash Tiwari and Tripti Dimre with the film to be helmed by Sajid Ali which will hit the screens in September.

In the trailer, the audience can take in the picturesque valleys of Kashmir amidst the soulful romance of the protagonists. The movie has the typical backdrop of a love story in hiding which is disrupted by the family’s honour. Imtiaz Ali had said, “Laila Majnu is an eternal story of everlasting love. It’s perhaps the most popular love story of all times. For the film, we wanted a fresh approach in all aspects – a fresh cast, a fresh script and a fresh setting. We had a great experience making the film and can’t wait to showcase it to the world”, reports BollywoodLife.
