* Vantawng Falls

The reason for this place being on top of this list is primarily due to my immense love for waterfalls. But keeping that aside, Vantawng Falls deserve to be here because they’re one of the most beautiful waterfalls in India.It is the largest waterfall in the state, falling from a large height of approximately 750 feet. With high cliffs, rocky terrain and bouts of greenery here and there, Vantawng Falls is a sight to behold.You can trek all the way up here and click some amazing pictures. Aizawl is the capital of Mizoram, but that’s not the only reason for it to secure a place on this list.The set-up of Aizawl is so beautiful that you’ll be in awe. Amidst sloping hills full of natural greenery and fresh air lies a town with small buildings, markets and a considerable population. It is supposedly set up at an altitude of 1132 m above sea level, thus giving an incredible view of the valleys and hills of the nearby area.Aizawl is the largest city in the state. Therefore, expect it to be culturally vibrant. Make sure to taste the local cuisines of Mizoram from the various small restaurants here.

* Champhai

Set up at an altitude of 1678 m, Champhai is a fast-developing town in the Indo-Myanmar borders. It is a strategically important location.Because of its high altitude, Champhai gives a superb view of the high Myanmar Hills. The town also has a rich past because locals believe that it’s here that the first settlement in Mizoram started.But none of these facts endows as much popularity to Champhai as its abundant natural beauty. Filled with fruit trees, orchids and lots of varieties of butterflies, it is a must-visit place in not only Mizoram but India as well. Besides these factors, Champhai is also famous for its many numbers of tribal communities who display various cultural traditions. The town also has acres of rice fields that sustain the majority of the population in the state.

But it’s best if you just trek on its hills and appreciate the fantastic view. You can also visit the many memorials in the town.
