MUMBAI: A vehicle from Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar’s convoy was involved in a serious accident on Monday evening in Mumbai after reportedly colliding with an auto-rickshaw near the actor’s Juhu residence. According to initial reports, at least two people sustained injuries. Akshay Kumar was not present in the car at the time of the incident.
Police rushed to the scene immediately, removing the damaged escort car from the road to prevent traffic disruption. The injured were swiftly taken to a nearby hospital, where they are currently receiving medical care. Disturbing visuals circulating on social media show the escort car flipped onto its side, while the auto-rickshaw appears severely crushed. In one clip, a person trapped inside the auto struggles to free himself as bystanders and officials work together to rescue him safely.
How the Accident UnfoldedEyewitnesses reported that Akshay Kumar and his wife Twinkle Khanna were returning from Mumbai Airport to their home when the accident occurred around 9 pm. According to accounts, a speeding car initially struck the auto-rickshaw, which then collided with a vehicle from Kumar’s convoy, resulting in the crash.
Maharashtra Anti-Corruption Bureau Director General Vishwas Nangare Patil was also seen at the scene assessing the situation as investigations began. Thankfully, no fatalities have been reported so far. Akshay Kumar has not made any public statement regarding the accident.
