Vivo X Fold 6 Set for Launch: Official Date, Design, Camera, Chipset, and Battery Details Out

Vivo has officially confirmed the launch date of its upcoming foldable smartphone in China. The Vivo X Fold 6 will succeed last year’s X Fold 5 and is expected to bring significant upgrades over its predecessor. While Vivo had been steadily teasing key details about the device, the exact launch date had remained under wraps—until now.

Vivo X Fold 6 Launch Date

The company has announced via Weibo that the Vivo X Fold 6 will launch in China on June 26 at 7:00 pm local time (4:30 pm IST).

At present, there is no confirmation regarding a global rollout, especially since the X Fold 5 remained exclusive to the Chinese market. However, official teasers and leaks have already revealed a fairly detailed picture of what the upcoming foldable will offer.

Vivo X Fold 6 Specifications

The Vivo X Fold 6 is expected to feature an 8.02-inch 2K OLED inner display paired with a 6.5-inch OLED cover screen. Both panels are said to use Samsung’s latest M14 luminous material, making it the first foldable to adopt this technology on both displays.

Vivo claims an extremely wide brightness range—from 1 nit to 5,000 nits—on both screens. The device is also expected to come with TÜV Rheinland Global Eye Protection 3.0 certification to help reduce eye strain during extended use. Design-wise, it will likely feature a premium metal frame with smoothly rounded edges.

On the camera front, the X Fold 6 is tipped to include a 200MP Samsung HPB primary sensor with a 1/1.4-inch sensor size, f/1.68 aperture, and CIPA 4.5-grade OIS. It may be joined by a 50MP ultrawide lens and a 50MP Sony LYT-602 periscope telephoto camera offering 3x optical zoom along with CIPA 4.5 stabilization. Vivo is also expected to introduce a ZEISS G2 teleconverter enabling zoom up to 200mm, along with five portrait focal lengths ranging from 23mm to 100mm.

Under the hood, the foldable is likely to be powered by MediaTek’s flagship Dimensity 9500 chipset, paired with Vivo’s V3+ imaging chip. A large 2,200mm² vapour chamber cooling system is expected to manage heat efficiently. The device could also pack a massive 6,900mAh battery, making it one of the largest batteries seen on a foldable smartphone.

Other expected features include IP58 and IP59 ratings for dust and water resistance, along with OriginOS 6 Fold. The software is said to bring Vivo’s new Atomic Workbench, enhanced multitasking capabilities, multiple AI assistants running simultaneously, and improved on-device AI processing.

With flagship-grade hardware, a powerful camera system, a large battery, and advanced AI-driven software, the Vivo X Fold 6 is shaping up to be one of the most ambitious foldables of 2026.
