* Patan

Patan is home to two famous things – the Patola saree and Rani ki Vav, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and featured on our new ?100 note. The step well is the oldest and the deepest in the region and is a truly sumptuous structure, built by Queen Udaymati in the memory of her husband. And as for the Patola saree, it is one of the finest hand-woven sarees produced in the country. There are several other attractions in the city including Hindu and Jain temples. Diu can be called a mini Goa in its experience. This beach town is located near the port of Veraval and is a part of the Daman & Diu Union Territory. It was a Portuguese colony during the colonial era and boasts of lovely fort structures along its coast. Visit the Asiatic Lions in their natural habitat at the Gir National Park. It is only remaining home of the wild cats. * Nal Sarovar Bird Sanctuary

onsidered to be the largest wetland bird sanctuary in Gujarat and one of the largest in the country, Nal Sarovar’s close proximity to Ahmedabad makes it a great weekend destination. With over 250 species of birds, it is home to rare migratory birds during winter; which travel from as far as Siberia.
