5 Must Visit Places in Nahan

Nahan is a perfect romantic getaway located away from the buzzing crowd of the city. This quaint little hill station is located in Himachal Pradesh and serves as an ideal holiday destination that lies among the lofty Shivalik range overlooking clean streets, dirt-free roads, and lush green fields.

Nahan has its past spun around several legends and folktales. It was founded in 1621 as a capital by Raja Karan Prakash and it is said that this hilltown derived its name from a sage called Nahar who used to live at the same site where this town stands today. As per another legend, Nahan got its name from an incident where the king was on a hunt to kill a lion and was halted by a saint called Baba Banwari Das who stopped the king yelling ‘Nahar’ which means 'don't kill'. The beautiful hilltown is now dotted with temples, verdant gardens, and a manmade lake.
