Method

* Peel the raw banana or aratikaya with a peeler and grate it. You need not remove the complete skin of the banana as the peel is more nutritious. Just peel the green layer on the top.

* Slice the onions lengthwise and keep them ready.

* Heat a pan and add oil to it.

* Once it is hot, add cumin seeds, mustard seeds, red chili, and green chili.

* Once the seeds start spluttering, add sliced onion. Let them fry for a couple of minutes.

* To this onion mixture, add grated raw banana, salt, coriander seeds powder, and turmeric powder.

* Mix it well so that the grated raw banana is coated well with spices and onion mixture.

* On a medium flame let it cook for 5 minutes. Scrape the bottom of the pan if it sticks. After 5 minutes, it will be like this.

* Cook it for 4 to 5 more minutes and once the raw banana is cooked well, add grated coconut powder.

* Mix it well and dish out the plantain curry. Serve it with hot rice or phulka or any Indian flatbread.
