# Baby Shampoo And Water

Incredibly easy and quick, baby shampoo can be used to clean your makeup brushes. It’s mild on the skin and does a perfect cleaning job. For a safe bet, try use to organic baby shampoo.

Method

- Run the brushes under lukewarm water
- Apply a coin-sized amount of baby shampoo into your palm
- Rub each brush into the shampoo until they lather
- Run them under lukewarm water again, gently cleaning the strands
- Drain out the excess water and run them back and forth on a towel
- Place on a clean towel until completely dry

# Olive Oil And Liquid Castile Soap

Olive oil helps condition the makeup brushes while castile soap goes after bacteria and other germs. You could add vinegar as well for its super tough germ-busting properties.

Ingredients:

Extra virgin olive oil
Liquid castile soap
White vinegar
Warm water

Method

- Pour a drop of olive oil on a clean dry towel
- Run each brush back and forth on the towel to soak in the oil
- In a glass bowl, mix liquid castile soap and water
- Clean each brush in this soapy water and gently massage its bristles
- In another bowl, add vinegar and clean each brush once again
- Run them under lukewarm water for a final rinse
- Spread them on a dry towel

# Bar Soap

Want something extremely quick for those lazy days? Pick up your normal (mild and free of chemicals) bar soap. While this method does a moderate job at cleaning your trusted tools, it is not as effective as washing it with ACV, castile soap, or baby shampoo. Keep this option as a last resort.

Method

- Dampen your makeup brushes
- Rub each brush against the bar soap until they become soapy
- Clean the brushes thoroughly
- Run them under water for a final rinse
- Place them on a towel

# Apple Cider Vinegar And Dish Soap

Need something tougher to get the gunk out of your makeup brushes? Apple cider vinegar is your answer. Thanks to its antibacterial and antifungal properties, ACV can tackle any germ buildup in your tools.

Ingredients:

1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
1/2 teaspoon liquid dish soap
1 cup warm water

- Mix apple cider vinegar and liquid dish soap in a bowl of water and stir
- Soak all your makeup brushes in the bowl for 10-15 minutes
- Rinse them under water
- Place them on a towel to dry

# Coconut Oil And Bar Soap

Antibacterial and full of moisturizing compounds, coconut oil makes an excellent option to get your bristles squeaky clean. Not to mention, how soft and supple your skin feels after a stroke of coconut oil.

Ingredients:

1 tablespoon coconut oil
A normal bar soap
Warm water

- Dampen your makeup brushes and rub them against a bar soap
- In a bowl of warm water, add the coconut oil and mix
