Akshay Kumar, Parineeti Chopra’s ‘Mission Raniganj: The Great Bharat Rescue’ Teaser Unveiled

On Thursday, actor Akshay Kumar unveiled the teaser for his upcoming film, 'Mission Raniganj: The Great Bharat Rescue.' Sharing the teaser on Instagram, Akshay captioned it with, "In 1989, one man showed courage and conviction that saved lives! #MissionRaniganjTeaser out now. Watch the story of Bharat’s true hero with #MissionRaniganj in cinemas on 6th October."

The movie is inspired by a true-life event involving the late Jaswant Singh Gill, who led India's first successful coal mine rescue mission. In the teaser, Akshay can be seen wearing a distinctive red turban, reminiscent of his appearances in films like 'Singh is Kinng,' 'Singh is Bling,' and 'Kesari.'

Initially titled 'Mission Raniganj: The Great Indian Rescue,' the film is directed by Tinu Suresh Desai and produced by Vashu Bhagnani, Jackky Bhagnani, Deepshikha Deshmukh, and Ajay Kapoor. Parineeti Chopra will play the female lead in the movie.

'Mission Raniganj' is scheduled to hit theaters on October 6, coinciding with Bhumi Pednekar's film 'Thank you for Coming.' In addition to these projects, Akshay Kumar is set to star in the Hindi remake of the Tamil drama 'Soorarai Pottru,' slated for release on February 16, 2024. He also has an action thriller film, 'Bade Miyan Chote Miyan,' alongside Tiger Shroff, and a comedy film, 'Housefull 5,' in the pipeline.
