Guru Randhawa Delhi Fitness Centre Fired With Gun Shots, Bishnoi Gang Takes Responsibility

Shots were fired late Wednesday night at a fitness centre franchise linked to singer Guru Randhawa in Delhi’s Paschim Vihar area. The Lawrence Bishnoi gang later claimed responsibility for the attack through social media posts.

No injuries were reported. Following the incident, Delhi Police reached the scene and began an investigation into the firing.

Gang claims responsibility

A social media post attributed to Bishnoi gang member Anil Pandit claimed that the target was a branch of Randhawa’s “24HS Fitness” chain. The post alleged that the attack was intended as a warning to the singer over his perceived closeness to actor Salman Khan. The message also threatened further action against individuals the gang considers adversaries.

Police said they are verifying the authenticity of the social media posts and have summoned the local gym owner for questioning. Preliminary investigations indicate that two masked men arrived on a motorcycle, fired several rounds at the premises, and escaped. Investigators are reviewing CCTV footage from the surrounding area.

Background: The Bishnoi gang and Salman Khan

The Bishnoi gang’s long-standing hostility toward Salman Khan is linked to the 1998 blackbuck poaching case in Rajasthan. The actor was accused of hunting two blackbucks, animals revered by the Bishnoi community.

Several of Khan’s co-stars from the movie Hum Saath-Saath Hain, including Saif Ali Khan, Tabu, Sonali Bendre, and Neelam Kothari, were also named in the case.

In 2018, a court in Jodhpur convicted Salman Khan and sentenced him to five years in prison, while the other accused were acquitted due to insufficient evidence. Khan was later granted bail and continues to challenge the conviction. The Rajasthan government has also appealed the acquittals of the remaining accused.

Over the years, the Bishnoi gang has repeatedly issued threats against Salman Khan and people believed to be associated with him.
