It is 72 km away from Pune and 35 km from Daund.This sanctuary represents the bio-diversity of drought prone areas of Baramati Tahsil of Pune District having undulating area and the periphery of the sanctuary is about 22 km.It is mostly made of dry deciduous scrub forest of Khair, Hivar, Sisoo, Bern and Karwand trees and interspersed grasslands and apart from the animals already mentioned.

* Bhimashankar Wild Life Sanctuary

The Bhimashankar Wildlife Sanctuary was created in the Ambegaon and Khed talukas of Pune District, mainly to protect the habitat of the “Indian Giant Squirrel”. It is positioned at an altitude of 2100 feet to 3800 feet and is spread over the districts of Pune, Raigad and Thane districts of the north-western part of Maharashtra. This wildlife sanctuary is famous for wide variety of animal species. Like barking deer, leopards, wild boar, Sambar, Hyena and Langur.

* Peshwe Park
