Ravi Kishan Praises Maa Behen for Helping Triptii Dimri Escape Her ‘Animal’ Stereotype

Actor Ravi Kishan has praised his Maa Behen co-star Triptii Dimri, calling the film a crucial turning point in her career. He believes the project has helped Triptii move beyond the image many audiences associated with her after her breakthrough role in Animal.

In a conversation with NDTV, Ravi spoke about Maa Behen, which is currently streaming on Netflix, and reflected on working alongside Triptii Dimri and Madhuri Dixit.

Speaking about Triptii, Ravi said, “Thank God this film happened. Maa Behen came into Triptii Dimri’s life at the right time and helped her come out of the image people had formed of her after Animal.”

He also drew a comparison with Madhuri Dixit’s career, noting that some of her most iconic songs became so popular that they often overshadowed her acting achievements. Ravi said the film serves as a reminder of Madhuri’s versatility and the wide range of performances she has delivered over the years.

Triptii Dimri’s Rise After Animal

Triptii Dimri’s portrayal of Zoya Riaz in the 2023 blockbuster Animal proved to be a defining moment in her career. Starring opposite Ranbir Kapoor’s Ranvijay Singh, Triptii played a key role in the film’s latter half despite having limited screen time.

The performance brought her nationwide recognition, earning her the title of “national crush” across social media platforms. However, the attention also came with criticism, particularly regarding the film’s intimate scenes, with some viewers questioning her decision to take on the role.

Directed by Suresh Triveni, Maa Behen features an ensemble cast including Madhuri Dixit, Triptii Dimri, Ravi Kishan, Dharna Durga, Geetanjali Kulkarni, Arunoday Singh, and Shardul Bhardwaj. The film premiered on Netflix on June 4.
