An allegedly mentally challenged man from India’s Rajasthan has injured himself by inserting scores of needles into different parts of his body. Badrilal from Rajasthan had pierced different parts of the body, mostly the neck area, with the needles for over a six-month period.

The man was likely suffering from a mental condition, observed experts. The pins were discovered by chance when the patient underwent an X-ray imaging for a foot injury some months back.A CT scan done on the patient later showed that he had more than 150 needles pierced in his body. The doctors have already performed two surgeries to extract the 91 needles.

Rajendra Meena, the patient’s son, said Badrilal had been unwell for the past 10 months.

“In the last 4 months my father lost a lot of weight. He was unable to eat and was facing difficulty while talking. Now, after this surgery he is doing better,” he noted.
