Auto Rickshaw Driver In Mumbai Found Guilty Of Molesting 13 Year Old Girl From Neighbor

A new incident of molesting a minor girl has came up in Versova of Mumbai. A 33-year-old autorickshaw driver was arrested police for molesting a 13-year-old girl at his home. According to Mid-Day, the incident came to light when the DN Nagar police were holding a session on ‘good touch, bad touch’ at civic-run schools under its ‘Police Didi’ initiative. The said incident took place on November 15, but the girl was scared to tell the incident to anyone. The girl gathered courage and told the incident to a Police Didi team which was conducting a session on Tuesday (November 20) at her school.

The girl narrated the entire incident to one the officers, after which the police arrested the accused. The accused has been identified as Babu Das (30). The police have arrested the accused under POSCO and sections of the IPC. The initiative was started by former Mumbai Police Commissioner Datta Padsalgikar to reduce the rising number of molestation cases against kids. Under the project ‘Police Didi’, designated women officers speak to girls.
